Doctrine
Our Beliefs
We Believe And Teach...
- THAT the Bible is the inerrant and
infallible Word of God.
(2 Timothy 3:15;2 Peter 1:21)
- THAT God is a Trinity, (Father, Son,
and Spirit), and that He is absolutely holy, loving, all powerful, and
in control of everything.
(Isaiah 6:3;Daniel 4:35;Ephesians 1:11;John 3:16)
- THAT Jesus Christ
is God's only Son, truly God, who was born of a virgin and became man,
fully man, to die on the cross for the salvation of sinners. He arose
from the dead physically and soon will come back to eath to judge the
living and the dead.
(John 1;Acts 1:3;Romans 5:8;1 Timothy 1:15;2 Timothy 4:1)
- THAT every person
is a fallen creature, who sins daily in thought, word, and deed, being
totally incapable of pleasing God, and faces eternal, conscious
suffering in hell.
(Romans 3:10-12,8:7,8;Hebrews 9:27;Matthew 25:41).
- THAT God commands every person to repent
and believe the Gospel.
(Acts 17:30,31).
- THAT the Holy Spirit
is the third person of the Trinity, who convinces sinners of their need
for Christ, causes a change in their hearts, and enables them to
believe the Gospel and to grow into the likeness of Christ.
(Acts 5:3,4; John 16:8-11;Titus 3:5;2 Corinthians 3:18;Galatians 5:22)
- THAT
the church is a local congregation of baptized believers under Christ's
rule, composed solely of repentant and believing sinners who confess
Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
(Romans 10:9,10;Ephesians 1:22,23;Matthew 28;19,20;Hebrews 10:19-25).
- THAT
God has ordained the means of preaching and witnessing the Gospel to
bring about the salvation of sinners. (Romans 1:16,10:13-17;1
Corinthians 1:21;Mark 16:15)
- THAT salvation of
any person is "By Grace Alone, Through Faith Alone", and that those the
Father chose, the Son redeemed, and the Spirit calls and converts.
(Ephesians 1:4-11;John 10:15,Ephesians 5:25;John 17:2,6:44,37).
- We look to the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession of
Faith as a faithful expression of Biblical Doctrine.
